Structure of gate valve
The basic structure of gate valve mainly includes valve body, valve cover, valve plate, valve stem and sealing ring and other parts. Working principle of gate valve
Gate valves work by inserting a physical barrier (gate or disk) into the pipeline that seals when closed and raises or lowers it when open. The barrier is raised and lowered by means of a handwheel on the bonnet, which acts as a valve actuator. It turns clockwise and counterclockwise to start or stop the flow of liquid as required.
Gate valve features
- Small fluid resistance. Gate valve body inside the media channel is straight through, as mentioned above, the gate valve can only be fully open or fully closed, when the gate valve is fully open state, the medium from the gate valve body channel when passing through the flow resistance is close to 0, the flow resistance is very small.

- Bidirectional flow. Gate valve is a two-way valve, that is, the valve channel medium flow direction is not restricted, the medium can flow from the gate valve on both sides of the direction of any flow, does not affect the normal opening and closing of the gate valve. So the gate valve is suitable for installation in the media flow direction may change the pipeline.
- Good sealing performance. Gate valve is to do to cut off the use of media, so from the sealing performance, the sealing performance of the gate valve is better than the butterfly valve.
